Richard Knowles appeared on the census of 1643 at Plymouth Colony; Arm Bearer List. He lived in 1648 at Cambridge, Middlesex, MA, USA. He was employed as In command of a barque which the colony had secured to carry military stores in case of trouble with the Dutch, on 1653 by Eastham, MA, USA. He lived in 1653 at Eastham, MA, USA. He served in the M on 12 May 1653 at Plymouth Colony; fearing war with New Amsterdam, "the Barque in which Richard Knowles sayleth, with him the master thereof, was pressed for the same purpose..." He purchased land of PO in 1654; "Richard Knowles 2 acres of meadow lying on the further side of little Namskaket, next below the meadow of Giles Hopkins." He purchased land of PO in 1656 at Eastham, MA, USA; Granted "The small points of land at ye further side of ye head of ye cove so far there by the high way be not [interlined] prejudicial." He died after 1670; One of the surveyors of Highway in 1670.
